Diary of a Welsh convert to the Mormon church telling of emigration from Liverpool and an excellent account of the journey to Utah from Florence, Nebraska to Salt Lake City in 1862, and his first year in Utah. Other papers mention the Ajax Underground Store in Center, Utah, 1869-1916.

Ajax, William, 1832-1899

William Ajax (1832-1899) was converted to the LDS Church in 1853 in Wales. Before emigrating to Utah, he worked on the Welsh church paper, Udgorn, and acted as clerk for the Welsh Mission. He and his family set sail for the United States on 19 May 1862, arriving in New York on 26 June 1862. They arrived in Utah in October of that same year.
